This is a basic introduction to yoga, which is a lot more than just stretching on a yoga mat. Rather, it includes a number of techniques, including meditation, which allow one to develop one’s self and achieve inner peace and happiness. The book does describe a number of effective yoga poses, however, as well the benefits of practicing yoga. A good guide for a beginner who is practicing yoga for the first time.
I had read various guidebooks on the topic of Yoga but I was not satisfied by reading all those books. Suddenly, last week my uncle highly suggested to read this book and as per his recommendation I didn’t feel hesitate or take long time to grab it. After reading the entire book I was so impressed and this read was far & far better than all those books that what I read before.

It helped me to understand about the benefits of Yoga for living a mindfulness & happy life. Throughout this book I have come to know about various types of Yoga, their practicing forms, step by step instruction of Yoga poses for doing everything right way & properly and much more things as well. Now it is clear to me that when will be the best time for practicing Yoga. It was really a fascinating & helpful read and definitely I would like to recommend this book to all interested readers. Now I am planning to check more books written by this author.

Certainly, yoga is a big business, but having a little deonthology, especially when trying to talk about yoga, seems to me a beautiful approach.

Very disappointed. Not what I thought I was getting at all. Pretty much theory and history, no applicable text at all.
As someone new to yoga, I appreciate the history included in this book. It was very informative. In addition, I like the fact that this book is written for beginners. However, I would have liked to see steps on how to actually do a few of the yoga techniques. The yoga poses are mentioned, but examples would be helpful. I look forward to this author's future books.
I loved it! I thought the author laid out a clear idea of what yoga is all about, where is comes from and how it can benefit you. It was practical and easy to follow. I think that this book can easily help people who are looking to get involved in yoga in the near future.
