Carson Merrill loves only one thing more than Lone Creek Ranch—high school sweetheart Jessica Tate. He has plans to marry her, until one fateful night a devastating accident nearly kills her brother, James, and claims the use of his legs. Jessica flees to Nashville, blaming Carson for her brother’s paralysis. She avoids him—and James—for more than a year.
Jessica returns to Lone Creek as one of the top producing land developers in the area, and she has one goal—to banish Carson forever from her memory while taking what he still loves—Lone Creek Ranch. But God has other plans—to draw the two together in a development project that will satisfy both their desires, and help them to reclaim the love they once shared.

Carson Merrill loves Lone Creek Ranch but not quite as much as when Jessica Tate was around it. Carson had plans to marry Jessica until an accident happened that nearly killed her brother James and took his ability to walk. Jessica blames Carson for the accident and leaves town. She hasn't seen Carson or her brother in over a year. Now Jessica has returned as a big shot land developer. She wants to buy and develop Lone Creek Ranch as a way of making Carson pay for the accident. A lot has happened in that year. Will Jessica come to terms with the past and see the possibility of a beautiful future? This is Book 1 in the Lone Creek Ranch Series and a great start! I really enjoyed meeting the characters. Jessica is full of anger but Carson's careful handling simmers her down a bit. I enjoyed their interactions together. James is a great guy and hopefully we'll see more of him. He's a great example of what God can do when He get's hold of your heart. It's a short story and to be perfectly honest I wanted more. I wasn't ready for it to end and it made me definitely want to read Lullaby in Lone Creek. If you're looking for a good quick read, Lost in Lone Creek would be a great choice.

Lost in Lone Creek Lone Creek Ranch edition by Mary Manners Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews
An offer that should never have been made. Two wounded people. Two opposing objectives. Enemies or lovers...do they have a choice?
Lost in Lone Creek is a sweet and endearing love story with characters that are easy to warm up to. For Jessica, resentment and blame have been her dominant emotions for the past year. Emotions that caused her to close her heart toward the man she loved and to flee Lone Creek. And even though she's returned, it's for all the wrong reasons.
The story line of misunderstandings and lost chances is nothing new. And if there hadn't been an outstanding feature that kept me reading to the end, I would have probably given this story three stars. However, author Mary Manners does an exceptional job with dialogue. Through that, and body language, she allowed me to know her characters more deeply. Showing is so much more effective than just telling because it lets me, the reader, shape this character in my mind, forging a strong bond that compels me to stay with that character until the end.
Another aspect of the author's writing is her use of unique, descriptive language that gives her readers a new and fresh view of familiar scenes, objects, or character reactions. It's not easy to describe a sunset or smile in a new way, but she manages to do that and more in Lost in Lone Creek.
If you're looking for a read to fit into one of those brief moments of private time, the length of this story will work well, not only that, you'll also come away with having found two new friends in Jessica and Carson. And don't forget, this is just one of the stories in the Lone Creek Ranch Series.

Another great series by Mary Manners. The characters are always well written. You like to get to know them. Think what I like most about Mary's books is they are romance books but they are a clean romance. But most important of all they are spiritual also. Read these novellas leaving one and feeling good. Mary writes from the heart.
Carson and Jessica grew up friends then more then friends. Till one night there is a terrible accident with her brother James. Jessica runs off blaming it all on Carson. A year later she returns only thing on her mind is buying the Lone Creek Ranch. Is it possible her and Carson can work things out to where they can both have what they want? I think God has great plans for these two! Great story!
I just read this book today and it was amazing. Mary Manners is one of the best authors I know.
I think Mary Manners is one of the freshest new authors I have read lately. She is a great Christian Fiction Writer. I have read all of of books and can't wait till she writes the next one. I have met Mary and she is a very humble person and caring person.
Interesting characters and start of an interesting love story. However, I think the shortness of the story limited the conflict between the two characters. It started with great promise, finished not as well. The story is good for a quick read on a plane or waiting at the doctors. )
Ms. Manners tugs you right in to the sights and smells of Lone Creek Ranch where you'll want to kick your cowboy boots up on the coffee table and sit back with your coffee mug and linger awhile. Lost in Lone Creek is the perfect size to curl up with on the couch for a couple hours on a rainy afternoon, but at seventy-three delicious pages, you'll wish it were longer.
Land Developer Jessica Tate isn't so likeable when she first appears at Lone Creek Ranch in her high-heeled pumps, designer sunglasses and snooty attitude. Although Rancher Carson Merrill hasn't seen Jessica since she stomped away a year ago, that doesn't stop him from looking past her bitter exterior into the heart of the girl he fell in love with and planned to marry. With Carson's gentle encouragement, Jessica's attitude melts, along with the brick wall she'd erected since her brother's accident, making it impossible not to fall in love with this cowboy.
A sweet, irresistible romance, Lost in Lone Creek is the first in the series. As usual, Ms. Manners leaves us eagerly waiting for the next book. Congratulations, Ms. Manners. Five stars from this reader!
I'm not sure Mary Manners is capable of "bad" writing. Lost in Lone Creek is another stellar example of this author's gift for painting characters so real they take on flesh and blood and become best friends with the reader; colors so vivid they make rainbows on the page; and sights, sounds, tastes and emotions strong enough to be almost tangibly experienced. Carson Merrill and Jessica Tate each carry a lot of emotional baggage around, and they both have lessons to learn, and hearts to heal. Manners makes it all happen in the space of less than a hundred pages, and without sacrificing essential detail, quality of writing, and intricacy of storyline. Great start to the Lone Creek Ranch series.
