It's a hoot. I couldn't put it down. So far I'm on the third book in the series. It's a good fun read as are the next two. I'm afraid I'm hooked on this series. It does remind me of some of William Johnston's books of this theme which I also found enjoyable. If you back off and look at the story expecting something completely realistic you are not going to find it. Maybe that's the reason I enjoy them so much.The only negative I have is they are short compared to most novels. He does know how to set the hook at the end of each so you will keep buying his books though.

Loved the fast pace and we'll thought out plot line. Very accurate to the times we are living in. Awesome book. I look forward to the next one.
This is it.. lots of blood and guts. Some romance and a lot of things to think. One of them about corruption in government.
This book is the first in an ongoing series. I really liked the first 3-4 books, but after that, it became very redundant and uninteresting.
A fabulous series - grips you right at the start! Strong women, strong men, does Texas great justice!
Written well by a very conservative author. I enjoyed book but suspect many libs will get quite upset and not read. Fun read, I bought whole set
Great continuation of the original Bug Out series. There was good tie in to the series and the characters developed quickly. While the pace is a bit slower the reading is good. There were enough unanswered questions to make me want to order the next one. Keep up the good work. Your realism and tie in to our present societal problems is prophetic even a bit scary.
Rednecks with guns good , antigun liberals bad. We got it. Swarms of Islamic extremists aided by their obvious Hispanic allies attack but are defeated by good ol' boys. The bad guys have AKs and RPGs but bubba has pappy's turkey gun. It is one long, long, long walking stereotype of merl (TWD) giving wet dreams to maga wearers.
