Cynthia is a beautiful African American woman who is trying desperately to break racial barriers by enrolling in The University of Alabama in 1963. The governor refuses to let her enroll, but national guardsmen force them to allow her to be admitted to the all white institution.
The town of Tuscaloosa is not used to interracial dating being allowed, and they frown on the Caucasian Steven, their star college quarterback, dating Cynthia, the beautiful black woman of his dreams.
All hell breaks loose when Steven tries to take the love of his life into a town restaurant that prohibits 'coloreds' from sitting with 'whites only.'
What follows is an attempt by clansmen and the sheriff to keep the hopelessly in love couple apart. Steven is an all star quarterback that can bring the town a national championship. Cynthia, as far as they are concerned, is an unwanted distraction that needs to be separated permanently from her fantasy man. She, however, is as tenacious as a bulldog, determined to hang onto her dream guy. But at what cost?

Usually these romantic novels are so silly, but this book honestly was not terrible. It ended too abruptly. The story was not finished. The male character was somewhat absent in terms of personality as the story is so brief there are few situations to develop a dialogue. The story was realistic and it has a rather well stated point. The story is a little more intelligent than what is typical for these types of stories.Product details
